Welcome to the website of the Musée de la Nacre et de la Tabletterie!
First of all, do you know what the tabletterie is?

Tabletterie is the work of making small objects with hard, natural materials from the living world (plants, animals), such as wood, bone or mother-of-pearl. The tabletiers are the people who practice the marquetry. They produce buttons, dominoes, fans, brushes, belt buckles, cutlery handles and many other often useful items.

Do you know what mother of pearl is?
Mother of pearl is found inside some seashells. It is characterized by a smooth and shiny surface on which all the colors of the rainbow are reflected. It is produced by the mollusk in order to form a protective shell.
Come and visit the virtual museum, you will discover the reconstructed workshops of the museum as well as the exhibition rooms with their beautiful collector's items ... Move with your cursor. You can go from room to room by clicking on the arrows.
